Hadron Collider School - HASCO 2017The main objectives of the hadron collider physics school (HASCO) are introductory topics inelementary particle physics, in particular in hadron collider physics as relevant for research at theLarge Hadron Collider (LHC). This includes lectures and tutorials on theoretical foundations of theStandard Model of elementary particle physics as well as experimental techniques to test it.Furthermore, a focus is placed on statistical data analysis and an introduction to the software packageROOT. In addition, students will have the opportunity to discuss state of the art measurements andresults with senior scientists in the field. The target group are Bachelor and Master students, i.e. mainly beginners in the field. The main activities are lectures, tutorials, and studentseminars. These are complemented by excursions, and sport activities. The learning outcome is better and more compatible theoretical knowledge of the fundamentals of elementary particle physics, but moreimportantly also hands-on experience with widely used software tools, statistics data analysis and experimental measurement techniques. The outputs are software programs, group presentations, and short summary reports. The academic achievements will be credited with ECTSpoints. The school will take place at the Georg-August-UniverstätGöttingen from 16. - 21. July 2017.Details of the HASCO school 2012 can be found here.Details of the HASCO school 2013 can be found here.Details of the HASCO school 2014 can be found here.Details of the HASCO school 2015 can be found here.Details of the HASCO school 2016 can be found here.
